Parliaments & The Paris Agreement

From climate change and net zero legislation to innovative scrutiny mechanisms, parliamentarians have responded to the climate emergency at multiple levels. Parliaments and the Paris Agreement - an overview of emerging global experience in the run-up to COP26 is a joint effort sponsored by the Westminster Foundation for Democracy, involving three leading parliamentary organisations, ParlAmericas, INTER PARES | Parliaments in Partnership - EU Global Project to Strengthen the Capacity of Parliaments and GLOBE International.

The report was launched during on Friday 24 September 2021, during New York Climate Week, at a panel discussion on how parliaments around the world have responded to the Paris Agreement with Kevin Casas-Zamora, INTER PARES/ International IDEA; Senator Rosa Galvez, Canada, ParlAmericas; Franklin De Vrieze, Westminster Foundation for Democracy; and GLOBE CEO Malini Mehra.

The report can be accessed in English and Spanish.
