The Parliamentarians’ Guide to Climate Change

The Parliamentarians’ Guide to Climate Change, a new report published in October 2024 by the University of Exeter and Peers for the Planet, in association with GLOBE and other partners, is a vital resource that draws on the latest climate science to inform and encourage Members of Parliament to take action on climate change.

GLOBE is now taking this valuable report further afield to inform and support parliamentary engagement in other parliaments around the world. GLOBE has taken the initiative to translate the report into all three languages of the COP28/COP29/COP30 Troika PresidenciesAzerbaijani, Arabic, and Brazilian Portuguese—over the coming period, as part of the lead-up to COP30 in Belém, Brazil.

The first Guide to be translated by GLOBE was in Azerbaijani and launched at COP29 in Baku in November 2024 at the prestigious ADA University, in the presence of Azerbaijani and international members of parliament, in partnership with University of Exeter and Peers for the Planet. The Portuguese version of the Guide was launched by GLOBE at the Pre-COP30 Parliamentary Forum at the Rio Municipal Chamber during Rio Climate Action Week in August 2025. (See pictures below.)
