Nigeria Climate Investment Summit
🇳🇬 Nigeria Climate investment Summit 🇬🇧
ABOUT NCIS
The Nigeria Climate Investment Summit (NCIS) is a high-level climate investment forum organised by GLOBE Legislators and SOStainability, with support from leading global institutions and partners including the Commonwealth Secretariat, United Nations SE4ALL, the City of London Company of Fuellers, and several others. Scheduled for 23 June 2026 during London Climate Action Week (LCAW) 2026, the summit will take place at Mansion House, City of London.
As Africa’s most populous country and economic powerhouse, Nigeria is home to the continent’s largest city, Lagos, and undergoing a major transition prompted by the adoption of ambitious climate change legislation, Carbon Market Framework and NDC 3.0 policies. As the country seeks to enhance climate ambition while advancing sustainable economic growth, NCIS strategically aligns with Nigeria’s preparation to implement its third generation Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC 3.0), and will serve as a platform to mobilise the partnerships and technical expertise required to translate Nigeria’s NDC 3.0 commitments into bankable projects and measurable outcomes.
NCIS will bring together senior Nigerian officials, legislators, governors, regulators, investors, development finance institutions, businesses, and diaspora capital networks to advance practical investment pathways for Nigeria’s low-carbon transition. The summit will highlight Nigeria’s climate policy progress, emerging carbon market opportunities, and institutional ESG performance, while helping position the country as a destination for climate-aligned capital and sustainable investment.
The event will feature a high-level plenary session, themed panel discussions, and networking sessions. Key themes will include power, energy and renewables; climate finance and carbon markets; and the investment potential of Nigeria’s subnationals.
Distinguished speakers and participants include Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nigeria; Rt. Hon. Sam Onuigbo, President-designate of GLOBE Legislators; Damilola Ogunbiyi, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, CEO of Sustainable Energy for All; Catriona Laing, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Somalia and Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia; Suresh Yadav; Ashutosh Shastri; Amal-Lee Amin, Managing Director, Climate, Diversity, & Advisory, British Investment International (BII); Trevor Hutchings, CEO, Renewable Energy Association (REA), and many others.
