GLOBE International is looking to establish national teams of consultants to provide secretariat services to GLOBE Legislators in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria and Senegal for the implementation of the 3-year GEF project GLOBE Legislators Advancing REDD+ and Natural Capital Governance Towards the Delivery of the 2030 Agenda.
The project will strengthen the capacity of national legislators in the project countries as they tackle natural capital governance towards the delivery of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) dependent on the continued flow of ecosystem services, with an emphasis on tropical forest ecosystems present in the three countries, and on the combat against desertification in Nigeria and Senegal.
The project objective is to secure the adoption of national legal frameworks for the implementation of REDD+ projects in all three countries, as well as of the legal reforms needed for a robust implementation of the Great Green Wall for the Sahara and the Sahel Initiative (GGWSSI) of the African Union in Nigeria and Senegal, whilst providing political momentum for the implementation of Environmental Economic Accounting as a tool for national development planning in all three countries.
Legislators will benefit from the technical input of national and international experts who will prepare comprehensive REDD+ and GGWSSI readiness studies and formulate concrete recommendations for main legislative reforms and will inspire a flow of parliamentary activism on the project subject matter (e.g. via parliamentary questions). National support teams working inside parliamentary premises will implement annual work plans including parliamentary workshops, training sessions with government officials, and annual international legislative Summits to exchange views with their peers from the project countries.
We are looking for 1 National Project Coordinator, 1 Project Assistant and 1 Communications Manager for each country.
The project will benefit from a dedicated interactive website & knowledge repository, so web design services are also wanted.
The website should be fully bilingual English/French, with responsive design, featuring news and events, different types of banners and featured content blocks, featured posts slider, featured subsection for special events, Twitter feeds, different subsections with separate landing pages (including sliders, featured events, etc., for the corresponding subsection contents), editing workflow for contributors who can contribute to specific sections only and global reviewers. Each section may contain a forum for authenticated users.
Please contact the GLOBE International Secretariat to consult the Terms of Reference for each post at firstname.lastname@example.org by 10 September 2019 at 22h00 CET.
