GLOBE International is offering four internships in 2022 to support our work on global legislative leadership for sustainable development and climate action.

The interns will work under the supervision of programme leads to help deliver GLOBE events at London Climate Action Week 2022 (including the Schools Climate Summit), the Student-MP Climate Surgeries in Africa, and legislative Summits at the United Nations’ three Rio Conventions - UNCCD COP15 on desertification; UNCBD COP15 on biodiversity and UNFCCC COP27 on climate change.

The internships would suit recent school or university graduates with an interest in sustainability, climate change, political science, governance and international relations. Both part-time and full-time intern positions can be considered and a stipend will be offered.

London-based interns would be preferred for the London Climate Action Week position, but the others are open to overseas / international applicants. Candidates with French, Spanish, Mandarin or Arabic fluency are encouraged to apply.

The internship positions are as follows:

2 x Research Interns

Duration: 3 months & 6 months

Provide research support on Parliamentary action (including sub-national and regional parliaments) on climate change and sustainable development in different jurisdictions and geographies. Work with the GLOBE Focal Point for the Parliamentary Group on regular updates for members and support database development. Contribute to reports, webinars and events, including the Student-MP Climate Surgeries in London and Africa, as needed.

2 x Programme Interns

Duration: 3 months and 6 months

Provide administrative, organisational and operational support as needed for delivery of London Climate Action Week events, included the flagship London Schools Climate Summit, and 2) Rio+30 Summits of the Rio Conventions on Desertification (COP15), Biodiversity (COP15) and Climate Change (COP27). Including supporting social media outreach as needed.ç
