GLOBE and Climate Parliament joint MEP-MP meeting
DISCUSSING COOPERATION ON CURRENT ENVIRONMENTAL LEGISLATIVE CHALLENGES
On March 26th 2013, GLOBE EU, GLOBE Europe and the Climate Parliament organized a lunchtime event at the European Parliament for MPs from national parliaments dealing active in their parliaments’ Environment Committees titled ‘MEP-MP Meeting on Multilevel Cooperation on Sustainable Development and Resource Efficiency’.
The aim of this meeting was firstly to bring together parliamentarians working to preserve the environment and stop climate change to discuss key current policy issues and priorities of the two organizations, and secondly to strengthen communication between parliamentarians on various European legislative levels and to strengthen GLOBE and the Climate Parliament’s work as networks of legislators. MPs from 11 EU member states participated in this event. ETS backloading, natural capital and resource efficiency, energy policy cooperation and the European energy infrastructure were among the topics discussed.
